26/12/2017· Previous house that I owned had 3,000 feet of 2" PVC from the meter to the house. We installed a "slip fix" type coupling every couple hundred feet to allow for thermal expansion. Seemed to work, as we never had a leak.
The water will squeeze through the short section and it will work fine as long as there isn''t more than 5 feet of old pipe left between the point you connected the new pipe and the water meter. If there is more than 5'' left, you will need to install new pipe through the wall, or replace the old pipe inside the house once it is through the wall.
I plan on running 3/4” pex from water meter to the house. Once inside the house the 3/4” will branch off using a 3/4” Tee. The (1) 3/4 supply line will run to a hot water heater then as hot water leaves the heater from a 3/4 supply to a hot water manifold with dedied 1/2 supply lines to each fixture.
